Body Love. Manual Labor.

We started our day chasing escaped bunnies. We still have 2 unaccounted for, probably in the belly of the beast. When I returned from dropping the boys off I searched again for the little escapees, as well as looking for any signs of their demise, but couldn’t find anything. So I set about cleaning out the rabbit pen. With all of last week’s rain it was a little overdue. This kind of chore is definitely not glamourous. But it feels good. It makes me feel capable and useful. Shoveling up muck for the chickens to pick through is the kind of thing that makes me feel connected to my food. It is the kind of chore that helps to build confidence and independence in growing children and helps to keep this busy Momma humble and grateful.

October 9: Today I am grateful for useful physical labor, and that my amazing body is completely capable of handling it.

Frugal Self-Care Today: I am off to take an extra shower. And yes, for me, it really is an act of self-care.
